Log Home Foam Gasket Tape
Log Home Insulating Foam Gasket Tape
Twin Creeks Log Home Supply carries a complete line of high quality engineered PVC foam insulating tapes as a solution for your most demanding log home sealing and installation requirements. Many other sizes are available per special order to suit most hand-crafted and milled logs.
Our log home insulating foam tape is a low density, closed cell PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) foam. Easily compressed, yet maintains good internal strength, this foam is manufactured with a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive on one side.
Where to Use Log Home Foam Gaskets:
Install Log Home Gasket Tape between log courses during construction to form a uniform seal between the logs. It is flexible and maintains a seal during seasoning of the logs. Foam tape gaskets are an integral part of sealing the joints of a newly milled log home.

Product Questions
-
What is the compressed thickness of the tape ?
We reached out to the manufacturer and they reported that because it is Closed Cell material, the foam gaskets will compress down to about 30% of their original height.
-
My 6x8 \"D\" logs are scheduled to arrive soon and want to know if I need to use one or two runs of log tape.
The amount of tape depends upon a couple of things. First, you need to check with your log manufacturer to determine if your logs will bear hard on the tongues or if there is a relief space between these tongues. If the tongues do have a small relief where they contact, I would suggest using a strip of tape on top of each tongue. If they bear hard, then place one strip of tape between the tongues. You don't want the tape to hold up the logs but you still want a good seal between them. Definitely check with your log manufacturer to get their recommendation.
