I've just added an addition to my house and want to make sure that I don't get that yellowing, "shadowbox" effect. Will this product yellow like the polyurethane that we used on our original house?
It sounds like there may be an oil-based polyurethane on your walls originally which can definitely amber the wood. Perma Chink Lifeline Acrylic finish resists this yellowing effect. You can also add Perma Chink UV Boost to the Lifeline Acrylic to help retard the ambering of your walls. Lifeline Acrylic comes in a satin and gloss finish and is a very protective coating for interior walls. We have also noticed with our own test boards that the satin sheen tends to resist ambering a bit more than the gloss.
